I'm the one that got away, bee hatch.
I've saved money on cups of tea,
And toast and honey in bed.
I've not had to give you shells,
Or give you day-long head.
I've not had to keep you company in the bath,
And failingly hide my bum.
I've not had to lend an ear,
Or visit your bro or mum.
I've not had to say sorry for scratch marks,
Or flare up when you make fun,
I've not had to freeze you out,
Or love your eyes in the sun.
I've not had to buy you Murphys,
At the pub near your house you like.
I can't say I miss the arguments,
When I'm too pissed to give a shite.
Maybe I'll add up one day
All the things that I've been spared,
I'll give you a bill which I will pay,
With the words 'you should have dared...' ¶ 10:43 pm
